Zakaryae Ait Ouamer, an independent software developer and the publisher of zakarya.dev, is responsible for the personal data this website processes. The site collects little: what you enter in the contact form (name, email, project type and message), sent by email through the Resend service, and the technical logs of the host, Vercel, such as your IP address, kept for one hour. Your messages, sent through the form, by email or on WhatsApp, are used to reply to you and to prepare any quote you request; form messages and emails are deleted no later than two months after receipt, unless they are needed for a project that goes ahead. The site has no user accounts, no database and no online payment, and uses no analytics, advertising or tracking tools; its only cookie, NEXT_LOCALE, remembers your language for one year. Who is responsible for your data?

The controller is Zakaryae Ait Ouamer, an independent software developer and the publisher of zakarya.dev (see the legal notice). For any question about your data, email contact@zakarya.dev.

What data is collected?

The contact form: your name, your email address, the project type you choose and your message. All four fields are required to send the form; you can also email contact@zakarya.dev directly. An invisible field, which visitors leave empty, is used only to filter out automated submissions.
Your emails: if you write directly to contact@zakarya.dev, your email address and the content of your exchanges.
Your WhatsApp messages: if you message +33 7 81 43 56 81 on WhatsApp, your phone number, your profile name and the content of your messages.
Hosting logs: on each visit, the host, Vercel, records technical data, including your IP address, information about your browser and the page requested.

The site asks you for no other data.

What is this data used for?

Your data is used to:

reply to your message and discuss your project;
prepare a quote if you ask for one, then manage the working relationship if a project goes ahead;
run the website and protect it from abuse, using the hosting logs.

It is never sold or used for any other purpose.

On what legal bases?

Pre-contractual steps taken at your request (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR): replying to you and preparing a quote when you write about a project.
Legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR): replying to other messages, and running and securing the website.

Who receives your data?

Your messages are read only by Zakaryae Ait Ouamer. The technical providers below are involved in processing your data; Resend and Vercel are based in the United States, so your data is transferred there:

Resend, a service operated by Plus Five Five, Inc., delivers form messages to Zakaryae Ait Ouamer’s inbox and keeps a copy of them for a limited period. In its data processing addendum, Resend commits to acting as a processor, covers these transfers with the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses and states that it complies with the EU‑U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
Vercel Inc. hosts the website and records the hosting logs on each visit (IP address, browser, page requested). It processes them under its privacy notice, in which it states that it is certified under the same framework.
Spacemail, an email service of Spaceship, Inc., hosts the contact@zakarya.dev mailbox: it receives and stores the emails you send directly and the form messages on behalf of Zakaryae Ait Ouamer. In its data processing addendum, Spaceship commits to acting as a processor and covers transfers of data outside the European Economic Area with the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses. The data Spaceship processes for its own purposes falls under its privacy policy.
WhatsApp: if you contact Zakaryae Ait Ouamer on WhatsApp, your messages go through that service, which applies its own terms of service and privacy policy. If you live in the European Economic Area, the service is provided to you by WhatsApp Ireland Limited.

How long is it kept?

Zakaryae Ait Ouamer manually deletes the messages received through the form or by email no later than two months after receipt, and keeps WhatsApp conversations for as long as needed to reply to you. If a project goes ahead, the exchanges needed for it are kept for the whole business relationship.

Resend keeps a copy of each form message for a limited period, set by its service, then deletes it.

Vercel keeps the hosting logs for one hour; the data it processes for its own purposes is kept according to its privacy notice.

Which cookies does the website use?

The website sets a single cookie, which remembers the language of the last page you viewed: when you simply type zakarya.dev, the site opens directly in that language.

The website uses no other cookie and no analytics, advertising or tracking tools, and it loads no script, font or image from another website. If you delete this cookie, the site still works: it opens in the language of the address you visit, otherwise in your browser’s language or, failing that, in French.

What are your rights?

You can ask to access, rectify or erase your data, or to restrict its processing; you can also object to its processing and ask for its portability. In addition, you can set instructions on what happens to your data after your death (Article 85 of the French Data Protection Act). To exercise these rights, email contact@zakarya.dev describing your request: you will receive a reply within one month.

How can you make a complaint?

If you believe your rights are not being respected, you can lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority, the Commission nationale de l’informatique et des libertés (CNIL) in France.

How is your data protected?

The website is served only over HTTPS: everything that passes between your browser and the site, the form included, is encrypted. It has no user accounts and no database: form messages are not stored on the site but sent by email. The server checks every submission and rejects those that a browser sends from another website.

Updates to this policy

This policy will be updated if the website changes the way it handles your data. The version in force is dated 22 October 2026.

If the versions differ, the French version prevails.
